From what I've heard Cuba is unable to import chemicals for food growing like pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and defoliants commonly used on farms across America; as a result Cubans eat mostly organic food and participate in their food growing by learning how to grow food organically. It would be interesting to measure the rate of cancers in Cuba before all of that changes once sanctions are removed and Monsanto and other chemical companies poison that country as well. Probably won't happen until Castro's gone, so there's still time to start a study.
